CCSD Family:
We want to assure you that the information presented in a post by community member Mark Dubose is not reflective of the facts, and we are committed to providing you with accurate and transparent information.
The post in question stated that an announcement was made during a board meeting telling everyone that they were trespassing and thus kicked out of the meeting and that board members were in executive session for 2 hours.
We would like to clarify the following point:
-There was an announcement made over the school intercom during the meeting for STUDENTS remaining unsupervised in the building, not board meeting attendees.
-There is no limitation on time spent in executive sessions.
We take our responsibility to communicate openly and honestly with our community seriously, and we encourage you to reach out to us with any concerns or questions you may have. We value your trust and are dedicated to maintaining transparency and integrity in all our communications amid the fabricated, unprofessional remarks continually made by a few. We encourage full support of our staff and students as we seek to continue teaching and learning.
We appreciate your continued support and understanding as we work together to ensure that accurate information is disseminated to our community, and most importantly, that we are able to focus on advancing our students academically.

In Clarendon County School District, we recognize that it takes a village to educate and empower our children and build a culture of learning in our schools. Our teachers and staff play an important role in ensuring that our students have a safe environment to excel and that change happens in the lives of our young adults, families, and the community.
Each month, we will recognize outstanding teachers and staff members who positively impact the Clarendon County School District. Teacher Feature of the Month and Staff Feature of the Month winners are nominated by and elected by their colleagues for excellence in their classroom and positive contributions to Clarendon County School District."
Congratulations to our featured teacher, Mrs. Candace Frierson, and featured staff member, Mrs. Beverly Cummings! We are so thankful for you both!
Intersession is a time for students and staff to relax and reset. Intersession begins on Wednesday, 10/4. Students return on Monday, 10/9.
Today is Custodians' Day! We appreciate all you do for us!
Clarendon County School District First Steps Parents as Teacher's Initial 2023-2024 Group Connection was a huge success with Summerton and Manning parents, grandparents, and children, 2 months - 4 years old. The program started with a prayer and ended with a BBQ chicken, rice, and veggies lunch. Our great First Steps team includes Anitra Hammett, Kia Brown, Ivorydell Tindal-Bannister, Marian Conyers, and Gloria Johnson.
We are happy to start another year as a Collective Leadership (CLI) District.
Pre K teachers from CCSD participated in a Frog Street Curriculum Training. There were lots of laughs with kid- friendly learning activities. Teachers learned all about this new curriculum while also having fun with teachers from around the district.
Join our students who wish to celebrate the Global Day of Student Prayer on Wednesday, 9/27. See you at the pole! 🇺🇸

Families Reading Every Day, or “FRED,” is a program that focuses on reading together as a family. The program goal is for families to read each day for 15 minutes. FRED is a fun and educational program that helps strengthen family bonds and helps support early literacy development. Our target groups are District 4K classes and the Montessori Classes at Manning Early Childhood Center.
With the help of Mrs. Gloria Johnson, CCSD FRED Project Coordinator, literacy bags will go home each Monday of the week and return to school the following Monday. Literacy bags will include two books and a poem activity. 📚
