Welcome Back to School, Clarendon County School District Family!
As Superintendent of Clarendon County School District, I am thrilled to welcome our students, parents, community members, and staff to the 2024-2025 school year. Over the summer, our team has been working diligently to ensure that our students have the resources and tools they need to succeed academically, become workforce-ready, and grow into productive citizens.
Exciting Additions and Initiatives:
Summerton Schools: We are delighted to introduce a new band instructor and program.
East Clarendon Middle/High School: We have new, effective leadership in place.
Tutoring Services: 24/7 tutoring is now available through Varsity Tutors.
Mesa Cloud: This system helps our guidance department catch errors in student records immediately, ensuring students stay on track.
Career Exploration:
Middle Schools- A new Career Exploration course; Grades K-5- Beable, which combines literacy with career choices; District-wide- SCOIS (South Carolina Occupational Information System) and Code.org are platforms for assessing career interests and developing skills.
21st Century Grants: We have secured two grants to enhance our after-school enrichment opportunities.
Career Center Courses:
Health Science: Expanded with a new instructor.
Real Estate and Sports Medicine: New career pathways.
Teacher Cadet Program: Preparing future educators.
We are committed to finding innovative ways to ensure our students are successful. However, we cannot do it alone. We need your support more than ever to ensure our students read and study at home. To facilitate continuous communication, we have implemented Rooms. This platform allows you to see your student's Google Classroom for all courses, communicate with instructors, and access resources and materials for continuous learning at home.
