Don't forget that tomorrow is the last day to submit money for the 25-26 WGE sculpture project! Please submit all funds and order forms to Mr. Jessie Welch. The cost is $26.00 per person. Mr. Doster will work with students and staff in the Fall of 2025 to begin building our sculpture! 🐾

Artists in Residence OrisiRisi, a husband and wife team composed of Nigerian born folk-artist Adetutu Harrell and Don Harrell, visited and provided an interactive performance for the students and staff at Walker Gamble Elementary. Tutu and Don captivated students' attention through stories from African folklore and traditional African drumming and dance. We would like to thank Don and Tutu for sharing their talents and culture with the WGE family. This amazing learning opportunity was made possible through the SCDE's Distinguished Arts Program grant.

Tomorrow is the last day to turn in forms and money for field day shirts. Please send your forms and money to Mrs. Jennifer Parker by 3/27/25. 🐾

The WGE Buddy Club traveled to the SC State House today for the annual Special Olympics Unified Rally. This youth-led event served as an opportunity for schools across SC to come together and show support for inclusion! Unified Champion School leaders motivated others with their testimonies about how Special Olympics has impacted their lives, highlighting the importance of inclusion and the lessons learned through their experiences! What a fun morning for students celebrating inclusion with their buddies! ❤️

Friday, March 28th is an early dismissal day. Students will be dismissed at 11:00 AM.

The WGE Buddy Club passed out peace sign necklaces with inclusive messages this morning to help kick off Unified Spirit Week! Today’s theme was “Peace, Love, Unified!” ☮️💚✌🏻
